F-3/16 is a Miniature Thrust Ball Bearing with no washers. F-3/16 has a plastic retainer, chrome steel balls and is capable of high speed applications and light axial loads only. Our Miniature Thrust Bearings are pre-lubricated with Light Oil allowing it to be ready for use upon delivery.

What are Thrust Ball Bearings?
Thrust ball bearings are composed of ball rolling elements. Their appearance sets them apart from the other types of bearings since the outer race and inner race, called shaft and housing washers, are layered with the cage in between. This assembly makes them look like three stacked washers. Thrust ball bearings can sustain loads at high speeds and their use are ideal for axial loads only.
Our inventory of thrust ball bearings includes single row thrust ball bearings and varies in sizes. We offer both miniature three-piece and regular three-piece thrust ball bearings. Many of our Miniature Thrust Ball Bearings contain washers with or without a groove and are made of chrome steel and brass cages. Regular Thrust Ball Bearings are made of chrome steel.
What are Rolling-Element Bearings?
Rolling-element bearings, commonly called rolling bearings, are bearings that carry a load by utilizing “rolling elements” between two concentric, grooved rings called races. The motion of the bearing races allows for the rolling elements to move with very little resistance and with little slide variance.
Some common types of rolling elements include ball, cylindrical, spherical, barrel, needle, spindle, or tapered.
What’s the Difference Between Grooved and Ungrooved Washers?
- Ungrooved Flat-Raced Washers are a pair of washers that permit eccentric movement of the shaft washer because of the lack of grooves that would restrict the slight wandering of the race.
- Grooved Washers are a pair of washers with a grooved race similar to that of radial ball bearings. Because of this, both thrust capacity and limiting speeds are much higher than that of Ungrooved washers.
