About Male Rod Ends

Male rod ends have an externally threaded shank that screws into a tapped hole or coupling. Rod ends (also called heim joints) are spherical bearings in an eye with a threaded shank or body, used to connect linkages, control rods, cylinders and steering and throttle linkages while allowing angular movement.

We stock metric and inch sizes, including lubricated types with a grease fitting, maintenance free PTFE lined types and zinc plated types, in right hand and left hand threads.

Right hand and left hand threads are often used together on the two ends of one rod, so turning the rod adjusts the overall length of the linkage, like a turnbuckle. For internally threaded rod ends, see Female Rod Ends. See all Rod-End Ball Joint Bearings.
